| Vaughn, the site looks great! Glad things are going well for you.
There are thousands of guys playing double high c's but it takes a different kind of player to lead his own band, and cut his own albums.
You are a gifted musican, very huble and down to earth. The work you do with students is admirable. One of the best.
Thanks for everything! |

| Vaugh,
I want to take this opertunity to thank you once again for headlining with the Drs. Phil Pearl/Jorge Rodriguez Children's Hospital Jazz Ensemble for both the Blues Alley and Washington DC Ronald Reagan Center Jazzmatazz Festival. All for the Kids Care Fund for Children's Hospital. You have been so kind to us both last year and this year to donate your talent, soul and sweat for the children at Children's hospital. I must say that you playing is so phenomenal. I can't wait to see you again, as you perform at Blue's Alley in June. You are one of the few international players who can play Trumpet like Maynard Ferguson and Trombone like Bill Watrous. How do you do it?
So I hope to see all your fans at Blues Alley this June

| First heard you on the "Summit Jazz Sampler" a few years ago, was blown away by "...Valentine." We need you to pay a visit out here on the west coast. I'm a public school art & music teacher and amature trumpeter. We've got some strong pro players out here, fella named Paul Mazzio is a good example. Beautiful country here also. Come see us, you'd be appreciated. -J |

| Greetings, sir. Received Panorama this week and was stunningly surprised. While I knew "of" you, I knew nothing about your playing, style, mindset, or other nuances inherent of our ilk. (May have even seen you with Airmen, but did not recall you.) I have been playing since '63; professionally since the mid-70's and have accumulated a large selection of recorded trumpet efforts. Not in all of these years have I listened to one album and experienced such a range of emotions. One moment I couldn't suppress the energy I was gleaning from your supercharged classics and the next moment my skin was crawling as you hauntingly maneuvered your flugel. I'm not big on singing trumpeters, but found your voice and presentation apropos and enjoyable. Most surprising to me however, was the number of times you made me laugh out loud. Your wit is evident and appreciated. Finally, as a 20-year federal servant caring for America's veterans, I cannot thank you enough for your heartfelt closing to Panorama; now a treasured (and oft-played) addition to my library. Thanks again, Vaughn! |

| Dear Vaughn,
It was great to hear you at Blues Alley the other night. The band was really swinging. I particularly enjoyed the one song that you sang. You show a tremendous amount of soul, desire, and heart. Wade Beech, on keyboards was phenomenal and the rest of the band was wonderful.
Again, you have given a lot back to the community and it was nice that you recognized Children's Hospital. Dr. Phil Pearl sat in. Not only is he a marvelous pediatric neurologist and world renowned researcher, he is also a great player.
I look forward to future events and I hope to see you soon.

| Dear Vaughn,
I appreciate you contributing your expertise, time and heart to our two charity events for Children's Hospital. The crowd at Blues Alley was quite impressed. It was a great night and patients still ask who that great trumpet player was who played with us.
Then at Jazzmatazz, at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center where Nancy Wilson and Dianne Shour, Larry Harlow and the Latin Ledgends and a host of other international greats played, you were quite a phenomemon. On A Night in Tunesia that solo took everyone by surprise. Needless to say it was an honor to have you play with our band.
Again thanks your all your time and effort.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jorge M. Rodriguez
